Listening to the radio this morning they said that the Danish company LEGO had gone up 60% in sales this year I wonder if it is due to these guys…….The company LEGO has certified, for the moment, 9 LEGO professionals around the world. And right now there is an exhibition of one of them here in Peoria. I went to see the exhibition called “Art of the brick” by Nathan Sawaya, a New York based LEGO artist. He has been compared as an artist somewhere between Auguste Rodin and Shieru Miyamato (a Japanese creator of video games)!
His next exhibition in the US will be in Hollywood, Florida,June 5-15 August 2010. www.brickartist.com
Another LEGO artist Nicholas Foo from Singapore made this lamp, iilluummii, to show that building with LEGO does not need to be so block-ish. www.blackbulbcreations.com
Yes these famous architectural American Icons are all made out of LEGO. Actually I think 2 of them are not in the US could you tell me where in the world they are? By the architect Adam Reed Tucker. He just finished an exhibition at the Chicago’s museum of Science and Industry sorry I missed it.
