Wall candy!

By Malin Miller on September 9, 2010

If you said the word wallpaper a few years ago people would look at you as if you came from another planet – what do you mean, wallpaper! are you kidding!

And now we hardly can’t open an interior magazine with walls that don’t have wallpapers at least on one wall! the accent, the accent…………..

Here is my pick of what is the most fun and beautiful out there so dare to pick one at least as an accent…………

Catherine Hammerton a London based designer-maker of wallpapers has a fantastic collection of handcrafted vintage pieces called “collage”. This perticular one is called “fly away”

Yes this is more than a usual wallpaper it is pure art. How great wouldn’t this look at the end of a long corridor?

She uses vintage wallpaper and makes a new one of the old one,  so gracious

It is pure eye candy!

A hilarious design group is Ingelaoch Vi (“Ingela and we” what ever they refer to???) from Sweden consists of Elisabeth Mansson an illustrator and graphic designer together with Peter Turkalj who is photographer.

Making a wallpaper with this conceptional name  “nobody puts baby in a corner”!  just shows the dynamism of this design group

I really love this one “pop out” this is exactly what you would like to do with wallpaper sometimes cannot be more explicit than this!

You have to visit their website it’s worth while ingelaochvi.com

Want to have a little piece of London in your home well here it is can’t get more Brittish than this!  Lizzie Allen is the wallpaper artist behind this, now having her own screen printed wallpaper company but has worked for Osborne & Little, Paul Smith!

The Dutch landscape arhitecte Petra Blaisse has made some wonderful wallpapers for Wolf Gordon. 8 patterns made from photographs of felt, rope.,stiching, knits and fur all enlarged to an unexpectedly grand scale.

The name of the collection is “Touch” precisely made for people who wants to touch the walls!
