It is true felting has been around for some time especially in cultures of Central and East Asia. But I think it has recently being redescovered by designers in the interior world. I wanted to show you how incredible this type of fabric can look in our daily interior.
The wall art and poufs comes from the Ann Kyyro Quinn design studio in London. She does remarkable things in felt. Turns it into 3 dimensional structures to give it an origami effect.
How interesting aren’t these wallcoverings! Great for a place that needs to be soundabsorbing.
Luzelle at mengseldesign received this beautiful wall art from having worked together with Ann.
The great thing with felted pieces is that it brings in softness to a room. Yes the lamp is also a felted piece. Lola footstool. See more of her projects here
Another UK felt designer is Selina Rose who uses a cutting edge technology to make the prints on her felted fabrics.
Where is the restroom please? Just follow the arrows…………..
These felted wall coverings really makes a wall talk. selinarose
I just realised that all the designers today comes from UK. Tom Dixon from whom we have several lamps also turned to felt.
Let’s finish off in flamenco style! This Spanish designer group emilianadesign has done this very interesting piece called “flying carpet”.
