photo by gkatz I have a love and hate relationship to Hollywood Regency. The glamour and glitz style invented by the 1930s star Interior Designers as Dorothy Draper, Billy Haines and Elsie de Wolfe. It was Hollywood’s golden age. But it hasn’t died out just been updated a little bit. The key to H.R. is lacquer, chrome, mirrors, velvet drapes, silk lampshades, glimmering chandeliers, thickly sculpted rugs and faux fur accents. Love the blown up Liza Minelli photo. Andrea Schumacher Interior Designer from Colorado has a certain leaning towards H.R. Love the yellow and grey it is such a great color combination. I Love this room. The colors are amazing, the lamps in the ceiling which matches perfectly. An Interior made by NY based Interior Designer Amanda Nisbet What about these bedrooms for some Hollywood dreams….. I loved that they were bold and painted the moldings in red really makes them stand out. If you don’t want to go H.R. at home you can get the feeling of it at a very unusual little boutique hotel in East London called 40 Winks. It’s a Queen Ann townhouse from 1717. It’s actually the designer’s home David Carter There are only 2 bedrooms, no concierge and no room service but who needs that in such an amazing environment. A stunning bathroom with gold leaves on the walls. Could I have a bottle of champagne please! Oh, right no room service…………..
