I don’t think there is a national day in the world that is celebrated so much between different nationalities as the St. Patricks day! Where ever I have lived the 17th of March is celebrated with a guiness in all the bars and pubs you can found. I thought I make a selection of some interesting pubs I woudn’t mind having a Guiness at today!
I never been fond of those very dark pubs (the guiness is dark enough!). But I do think a pub should have some feel to the oldern days, look at the beautifyl “tired” wooden floor some antique chairs and a nice fireplace of course all that with a modern twist that lightens it up the wallpaper is really great. The Langtry Pub in Norwich, UK.
This is a very stylish place to have a Guiness, Blue Monkey in Zurich. It has been designed by a very talented Swiss designerduo James Dyer Smith and Gian Frey Yatzer. Love the guerilla on the wall. It opened in 2010.
Let’s finish our Pub round at a classical place. In this geourgeous Victorian building in London you have a pub called Paradise by way of Kensal Green it owes its name to a GK Chesterton poem in which the author describes the process of reaching the Afterlife as travelling to Paradise via Kensal Green (Cemetery). The Cemetery is still there today on the other side of the road.
A perfect place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Another Guiness Please! oh by the way Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
A Guiness please!
