May, June are wedding months aren’t they? Actually, me and my husband looked at eachother yesterday and realised – “isn’t it our wedding anniversary today”! well too late we were too tired after the kids soccer, ballet etc for whatever celebration, so the champagne is still in the fridge! Anyway if you are heading for a wedding shortly perhaps these gifts could inspire you.
I just think the design of these Cognac glasses is brilliant. The Danish designer Rikke Hagen wanted to translate to us the sensation of holding a Cognac glass in a setting of an old British library or study. And somewhere in a traditional Cognac glass the foot is always in your way here you can really embrace the glass and what’s in it………. Totally romantic in front of the fireplace for a newly wedded couple a cold winter night. www.normann–copenhagen.com
Soil cutlery by the designer Vladimir Rachev. He wants to remind us where our food comes from (or should come from!). You can almost feel the earth in your mouth using them….. Very stylish in this version of black and white I think.
Who wouldn’t love to receive this gracious “Swan” pitcher as a wedding gift!It was made in 1948! by the Danish silversmith Koppel and is today taken up in production by www.Georgjensen.com.
OK a tablecloth as a wedding gift might be a little grand-motherish but The Norwegian designer Kristine Bjaadal has given it a modern twist. The traditional tablecloth in white floral damask “Underfull” as soon as you spill on it this great pattern of butterflies comes out! Isn’t that pulling out the positive from the negative!
Aren’t these ceramics beautiful! Made by an American company in Minneapolis, Minnesota Jessica Rust is the designer, very poetic. www.rustdesigns.com. Would look great for the first dinner with the parents in law!
Love is in the air!
