What’s behind your back?

By Malin Miller on February 28, 2011

If your bed doesn’t have a “natural” headboard I always think it is interesting to arrange something behind it to give the room a depth. These cushions by an Italian company Oliveri are connected by clips so they can be arranged as you like and be changed at any moment. I really thought it was a cute idea and brings softness to the room.

The most common ones would be upholstered. I think this one is interesting due to its round shape opposed to the habitual rectangular ones.

As you might know we used to sit up in our beds and sleep whereas the name headboard!

Trompe l’oeil is a fun way to make something interesting. Heather  did this for her sons.

I love this one with the detail of the servants bell! Very theatrical.

Sometimes browsing through flea markets you found old doors, windows etc. which are beautiful but you do not really know what to make of them. Well, this is a very easy installation!

This beautiful architectural peace certainly will bring drama into your bedroom.

Judyis a decorative wall painter and I thought this very graphic way of using your initials in a teenager’s room was a  really neat idea.

A perfect spot for a collection of vintage letters.

An easy way to do the princess look.

This is an easy way of getting some intimate light. You put the lights within a wooden frame and shiel them with a transparent fabric.

Let’s end with a very sleek look. By just changing the material of the wall behind your bed you get a great display and depth.
