When I arrived in Peoria which can be a chock in itself coming from Europe. I met a lady in my neighbourhood who asked me if I knitted? I just got a flashback seeing myself at my parent’s home 1980’s knitting one pullover after another but that was in the 1980’s!!!!!!!!!!! Who knits now? I just looked at her and said NO!
Sometimes I must admit I am being ignorant about things why shouldn’t knitting evolve as everything else does? And I started on a cold winter night to reenter the world of knitting again and oh boy how surprised I got. Actually the word is not knitting anymore it’s FELTING!
You knit like crazy, the double size of the piece you want and the magic happens in the washing machine! We all know what happened to the nice wool pullover we had once and forgot to hand wash in stead it went into the machine and shrunk! But in this situation this is exactly what we want to happen.

I have just finished knitting my first purse. It doesn’t look this cute yet but I am working on it (the shrinking in the machine can work on your patience…..)
These adorable slippers will definitely be my next challenge.
