As long as I remember I have been in love in the Moroccan cement tiles. With their bold colours and geometric pattern. You can still see when you walk in in some 1930’s apartment buildings sometimes in the hallway they have this beautiful tiles on the floor or in some older shops. It gives such a warm and inviting atmosphere to the space!
There are several designers and companies that now is updating the pattern to better fit our contemporary homes. The Swedish Trio Architects Koivisto, Claesson and Rune has come up with some great patterns for a Swedish tile company.
Like big pebbles lying on the floor.
Here it has been laid out so it looks like a carpet a great idea!
A tile rug perfect for the outdoors!
The traditional look still looks very contemporary in black and white!
You can dare these patterns in a setting where everything else is very suttle.
If you want to create a bigger impact you put it all over the place!
Your stairs always a place where you can permit a little bit of boldness!
One of my favourite companies in Moroccan tile productions is Popham an American couple who left Los Angeles and settled down in Marrakesh and started their beautiful production of cement tiles. That’s the way to go Believe in Yourself!!!!!!
