Revival of an old Alphutte

By Malin Miller on April 8, 2013

A Swiss foundation started in 2005 with the goal of creating  vacations in national heritage buildings. I.E. they are renovating and saving old buildings and giving them new life and meaning.

As I love the mix of old and modern I chose this object the Huberhaus in Bellwald in the heart of Switzerland, Valais.

This is an old alpine log house from the 16th century.

The restoration has been done in the philosophy of keeping it as genuine as possible (the only heating is via the stove) but with modern facilities.

The red kitchen stands out beautifully to the surrounding grey tones.

All furnished with Swiss made furniture.

Yes you need colors in a monochromatic house like this love the green!

Who wouldn’t love to spend a week in these surroundings! You can rent it at Magnificacasa.
