I love poetry. And now with the trend of stickers as wall decors you can have your favourite phrases, expressions, poems etc. directly on your wall. The famous hotel Puerta de America erected in 2005 in Madrid by the French architect Jean Nouvel took it even further. It is a very intriguing building not only due to it’s 12 floors where on each floor a very famous interior designer has done their very personal interpretation of the rooms but also the facade is speaking to us literally…….. The blinds on the outside of the facade are adorned with the words of Paul Eluard’s poem ‘Freedom’ in several different languages, hinting at the diversity of design within. It’s a beautiful poem but long ………existing of 21 paragraphs the first one reads ” Sur mes cahiers d’ ecolier, sur mon pupitre et les arbres, sur le sable sur la neige, j’ ecris ton nom” and the last paragraph reads “Et par le pouvoir d’un mot, je recommence ma vie, je suis ne pour te connaitre, pour te nommer Liberte”
Cute little table with some Italian on it can someone out there decode it for me please….
Here comes some interesting ways of expressing your self on the walls, putting up your favourite poem etc.
This is a poem by William Blake “Love’s secret”
Never seek to tell thy love, Love that never told can be, for the gentle wind doth move, silently invisibly, I told my love, I told my love, I told her all my heart, Trembling cold, in ghastly tears, Ah! She did depart.
I really like this how it crosses over the walls
How you can light words up!
OK this is no letters on the wall, but a bookshelf that would carry all the letters! I just think it is an incredible poetic design of a bookshelf called “shelf in the wind” by Olivia Bradateanu.
Wall, if only you could talk…………..
