Did you know that the iconic Danish Architecte Arne Jacobsen’s favourite plant was the cactus? Well, I am not surprised because there certainly are some intriguing lines and forms and the abstraction of the plant makes it a great accent in your Interior. I have always been very attracted to these plants and as a child I collected the miniature cactus.
The most famous cactus in the world was created by the Italian design duo Guiod Drocco and Franco Mollo in 1972 for the Italian company gufram. Created in the era of discovery of polyurethane entering the interior design world. It is 1.70 m high 66.9″h and it truly is a very cool peace to have around the house if you can afford it 2’624 Euros……………..
If you are into botanical decor this is your peace. A lamp created by the American designer Kara Burlet called “Live lamp”. The glass orb is patterned with living air plants by the name Fuschii V Gracilis Tillandsia! (remember that if you can!) They survive with little sunlight, air and moisture. The lamp is done so the plants can be removed to keep the plants under water once a week. Perfect for me who has no green hands!
The American designer Deger Cengiz is really playing within the border of what is design and what is art? This very interesting piece makes us think twice before sitting down! Or as Mr. Cengiz says himself “it’s a visual bewilderment accompanied by an awkward seating experience”. You must check out his website for more very conceptual and fun pieces. degercengiz
Who is not touched by these little men from March? Domsai designed by the Italian Matteo Cibic. I wish I had these planters for my collection of mini cactus. He even has invented a better way of naming a designer, he calls himself a “creative problem solver” isn’t that was design is all about?!
I like the deluxe version! Each cactus has its specially made blown glass dome adapted to the cactus. And you can just lift up the dome and give it water. Your new pet on your desk!
This bedroom wouldn’t be the same without the cactus. It’s really a great accent in your interior.
Look but don’t touch!
