We all know this very famous paper chair by the now famous architecte Frank Ghery, however, back in 1969 when he came out with this series of “Easy Edges” he was less known and experimented with this material.
Since then there has been several trials to make furniture out of this very flexible and cheap material. One Italian design studio completely dedicated to this material is a4adesign.it. They make great designs
like this chaise lounge ”Wanda” or for professional use
isn’t this a great way of displaying jewellery?
If we all go back to our childhood we can remember we all were paper designers, however, not in the furniture business but in aviation
so the Irish (by the way I think it’s the first Irish designer I’ve come across!) Lorraine Brennan, did it spot on with her ”A4 paper plane” coffee table. It’s in 2mm thick powdercoated steel and I love it!
This lamp is also a great design with it’s feeling of flipping through papers! The Italian designer Manuel Vivian is the lead designer at the lighting company Axo Light.
I wonder how this paper sofa is to sit in but it’s fun for sure! You just blow it up as the name of the sofa says ”Blow”. Made by a Polish design couple Agata Kulik and Pawel Pomoski.
Paper what a fun material!
