Guess which actress lives in this house in Santa Monica, California? She won an Oscar for her performance in “Prizzi’s Honor” 1985. OK another clue, was married to the famous American sculptor Robert Graham yes got it? OK I’ll give it to you it’s Anjelica Huston!
This very interesting house was designed by her husband for her. I must say it’s much more attractive inside than outside. She said “he gave me a very beautiful shell in which to place my oyster”.
Robert Graham was born in Mexico and you can kind of see his inspiration from the famous Mexican architect Luis Barragan famous for his play with space and light . The different levels and depths on the walls really gives it a very lively impact and the unpainted plaster picks up the light absorbs it and throws it back.
I love the painting by David Novros.
The house has a beautiful inner court yard with pool of course.
